I used to want to save the world. To end war and bring peace to mankind. But then, I glimpsed the darkness that lives within their light. And I learned that inside every one of them, there will always be both. A choice each must make for themselves. Something no hero will ever defeat. And now I know, that only love can truly save the world. So I stay. I fight, and I give, for the world I know can be. This is my mission now. Forever.
Don’t engage alone. We do this together.
Justice League (2017) dir. Zack Snyder
It’s about what you believe, and I believe in love. Only love will truly save the world.
I can save today. You can save the world.
I feel like one of the most ironically sexist things that happened to women heroes for so long was that they had universal storytelling taken away from them. So, male superheroes could have Lois Lane. They can have love, they can have vulnerability, they can have complexity. But women superheroes or strong women characters had to be, ‘I don’t need anyone, I’m the toughest person in the world.’ That’s not fair to anybody. No human being is an island like that. - Patty Jenkins.
If you choose to leave, you may never return.
Who will I be if I stay?

I am…above average.
I used to want to save the world, this beautiful place. But the closer you get, the more you see the great darkness within.
